Principal UI Engineer

Position Summary 

Are you passionate about developing user interfaces that are simple, achieve the functional goals and keep the user in mind? Are you an expert in JS? Are you looking for an opportunity to fully exercise your Web UI architectural skills, creative skills and Java Script knowledge?  As a lead member of our server engineering team, you will create state of art user interfaces that abstract technical problems from the user and present to them simple ways to achieve their functional goals. You will be developing frameworks to create reusable solutions to problems. While you will mostly create new solutions from scratch, you will also be retrofitting existing applications to benefit from your architectural changes.

You must be strong in the latest web application architecture and development concepts, as you will be expected to design and implement technical solutions, best practices and UI architecture. You must also have excellent communication skills, as we are an agile and dynamic group.  You must have proven track record of delivering high quality software, be able to take ownership of various aspects of the product and deliver quality UI code. As an agile team we are continually improving our processes and product. You will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle including specifications, user experience specification, design, coding, deployment and maintenance. You will be architecting and developing software for all areas of our UI. You will be working hand in hand with our server-side engineers, user experience team, product managers, QA and publications teams. 

Requirements 

Strong Object Oriented Concepts

10+ years of experience Developing and Architecting Web Application UI with several of them on Java Script or JS based frameworks 

Experience integrating with XML and http based backend services 

Passionate about User Experience 

Must have a 'get it done' attitude 

Must be able to mentor other members of the team  

Deep knowledge of one or more UI frameworks EXT-JS/JQuery or other Javascript based frameworks 

Experience developing applications in one or more of the above UI frameworks 

Ability to work in an agile environment, must be comfortable with deriving details of requirements 

Uncompromising sense of quality  

Nice to have 

Knowledge of Maven 

Knowledge of and the ability to guide UI test Automation teams
